Spring-Green not only offers regular lawn fertilization, weed control and tree and shrub care maintenance – franchises also provide a variety of other yard services. Some of these services help fight common lawn diseases, while others help increase the overall health and attractiveness of our customer’s lawns – but our aeration and overseeding service helps in both of these areas.
With Spring-Green’s aeration service, plugs of soil are mechanically removed and deposited on the top of the soil surface. The removal of these cores allows the surrounding soil to be relieved of compaction. This remaining soil is oxygenated, and then fills in the holes.
After aeration is the most beneficial time to begin overseeding the lawn with desirable blends of turf grass. Through Spring-Green’s training program, you’ll learn that new seed varieties have been proven to provide an overall better appearance, higher resistance to disease and a greater ability to withstand drought than older cultivars.
By combining aeration and overseeding, you can reduce the effects that low fertility, summer weather stressors, lawn diseases and soil compaction have on turf grass’ natural ability to ‘fill-in’ or thicken. Such damage can create both large and small bare areas in the turf, but with the aeration and overseeding service, a lawn can grow thick with new seed and new grass plants - filling-in otherwise bare areas.
